ok, just wanted write a little update.

over the weekend...
had my uncg interview on friday...went well...i think. i liked the program and the people...and so i wait...again. then i spent the rest of the weekend in sanford...it was SO relaxing...filled with movies, wii playing, the hot tub, and a bucket of margaritas. mmmmmmm.

101 update...
i don't think i've finished any lately...however...i will be soon...within the next month.

#1 - i'm interviewing at uw-madison next monday/tuesday. i'll then find out if i'm accepted, waitlisted, or rejected on may 2nd. and i wait.

#2 - i'll be finishing book #2...yes, i'm a slow reader! i'm almost done...should be done in the next couple of days. i'll then be starting either kite runner or nineteen minutes. maybe i'll read them both on the plane to hawaii... ;)

#5 - i'll be trying out some new restaurants...while we're in hawaii. i'd like to hit up the oceanarium.

#10 - swim in the ocean...when i'm in hawaii...

#11 - i have a meeting tomorrow for volunteering for the special olympics midsummer tournament.

#13 - i'm planning on getting a pedicure before i leave for hawaii.

#28 - since hawaii is outside of the continental us...i'll be traveling outside of the continental us this month ;)

#32 - i'll be attending the kokua festival...jack johnson, dave matthews, tim reynolds, paula fuga, mason jennings, and go jimmy go...in hawaii. but i'm only counting it as one concert.

#44 - so i bought a new bikini...for the trip to hawaii. and i'll possibly wear it...

#48 - watch the sunset...in hawaii.

#72 - we may go snorkeling...in hawaii.

#77 - i've actually completed part of this one....when i visited lindsey while i was in michigan for my wsu interview.

#84 - i'd like to go to the aquarium that's just down the street from our hotel...in hawaii.

#96 - did i mention i'm going to hawaii?!?

not to rub it in or anything...

but i'm going to see jack johnson, dave matthews, and tim reynolds...in hawaii :) chris is taking me to the kokua festival in april for my birthday. my boyfriend is the best! stay tuned for pictures.

trip to detroit.

i had my first interview on march 21st at wayne state university. i have to be honest, i wasn't too excited about the school before i got there. but after meeting and speaking the directors, a few other counselors, and some of the current students...i really liked the program. it was a long day...6 interviews, lunch with some of the students, a pediatric case conference, a program overview, and a quick tour. i think it went well..although i really have no idea. how do you really know what your interviewer is thinking?? so, i guess in that case, maybe it went really bad?! i'll let you know on may 2nd.

i spent the entire weekend in michigan in order to visit with family and friends. i spent thursday and friday night with lindsey and her husband jay. friday night we went out in ann arbor and met up with tim, andy, and andy's girlfriend, stacey. we ate...and of course drank...at pizza house...then followed it up with a few other bars. good times, good times.

i then headed over to mason to hang out with nicholas, becky, and tristan. we colored eggs, played games (and more games...tristan is such a little busy body!), and ate (what kind of family gathering would it be if we didn't eat?! becky made this fabulous fruit chocolate sugar cookie thing...mmmm.)

it was all around a great weekend! and i was thinking it would be nice to move there...that is until it snowed!! ;)

Shamrock Half Marathon

a group of us that trained together during the winter tnt season, along with chris, ran the shamrock half marathon in virginia beach on march 16th. it was a great race...the weather was a bit cold and windy...but i still ran my best half marathon time yet (2:04:31). it was chris' first half marathon and quite possibly his last. he wasn't feeling so fabulous after running 13.1 miles....but at least he made it. i'm proud of him. :) directly after the race we hung out in the tent on the beach to listen to live music, eat stew, and of course drink beer! every runner received 4 free beer tickets...and then they just came around later and started handing them out to anyone....we had plenty of beer! not sure that's a good thing after running that many miles. it was a great weekend...see pics below. i'll be running my next half marathon in raleigh on april 5th...i don't think chris will be joining me.

that's what my mom said to me when i was worried about getting interviews for the genetic counseling programs. she's so weird ;) i think she got it from her sister, my pretty aunt gail (which isn't implying that i have an ugly aunt gail...just emphasizing the fact that i have pretty aunts...really just an all around beautiful family...i'm not being conceited, it's just the truth...haha!)...ok, anyway, what i'm getting at is that i shouldn't have been fretting. it's not march yet, but i heard from uncg yesterday...and have an interview scheduled for march 29th. woohoo!

and so, i'm back to waiting for word from the last 3 schools...

a step closer to #1...

i've finished all applications to school...and i've been waiting...very patiently. i ran into a few problems with gre scores and transcripts and paper applications (yeah, that's right...i applied somewhere that supposedly only had a paper application...that's another story...)...but it has all been straightened out. or at least i think everything's straightened out...

i received an email from uncg about a month ago stating that they have received all of my application materials and will be contacting me in early march...letting me know whether or not they would like to interview me. their interview dates are march 28, march 29, april 4, april 5. and so i wait.

i figured since uncg had the earliest application deadline, i wouldn't hear from any of the other schools until early march either. however, i have already heard from both uw-madison and wayne state. i'll be interviewing at wayne state on march 21...and wisconsin april 7-8. (yay!) chris is excited that i could potentially be a badger...i believe he has already found me a place to live there...lol.

in other news...
dad's doing well...although he's not really moving around much yet...

chris had to leave on a spontaneous trip to "the beach." i got an email from him today...he's doing well. they went out on a friends boat today...apparently it was margarita tuesday at the bar on the sand bar just off the shore. they're planning to go fishing tomorrow for trophy marlin...but of course that all depends on the weather. ;)

christian came home from "the beach" on friday...he was supposed to get home on thursday but then there was bad weather and they had to have some certain amount of rest time or something...blah blah blah...anyway, he finally made it home safely friday morning. yay! :)

he then rented a plane from burlington...and we flew down to florida to visit his friend tom (& tom's family). it was a nice weekend...cold, but relaxing. here are some pictures from the trip.
